Tag! You're it! You are one of my choices for the following:

"List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now, shaping your summer. Post these instructions in your blog along with your 7 songs. Then tag 7 other people to see what they're listening to."

Hey! My name is Oliver Primus and i run a website called The 405 (www.thefourohfiv e.com) and currently we're looking to expand our contributors and content. This is where you come in (hopefully!) We're looking to expand on the arts side of the site as it's kind of lacking in that department and we're wondering if you would want to contribute to our site in some way? like a regular guest spot? Let me know what you think

Oliver

Stencil Nation Book Release!
While we are on the subject of new art book, we just had to mention Stencil Nation's soon to be released "Stencil Nation: Graffiti, Community, and Art" by Russell Howze. And to celebrate their new book Stencil Nation is throwing a book release party slash stencil art exhibit this Friday in San Francisco!!

The event will also feature the author, Russell Howze, sharing the Stencil Archives which includes over 10,000 photos of stencil art. And to make things a bit more interactive, stencil-making supplies will be available upon request. In just reading the last sentence you should be unable to sleep with excitement for this event.

When: Friday June 6th, 7pm to 12pm
Location: Revolution Cafe
3248 22nd Street (at Bartlett)
SF, CA 94110
(415) 642-0474
What Stencil Nation has to say about their newest achievement...

"'Stencil Nation: Graffiti, Community, and Art' by Russell Howze will be available June 2008 from Manic D Press, San Francisco. The book will be 192 pages, have over 500 full-color photographs, and show work by more than 350 artists from 28 countries. Featured artists not in the list above include: Banksy, Jef Aerosol, Logan Hicks, Adam5100, Arofish, M-City, SWOON, Hao, John Fekner, and others.

Without a doubt, stencils are the fastest, easiest, and cheapest method for painting an image on a wall, a sidewalk, or almost any object anywhere. Stencil Nation focuses on the unexpected mix of this lively, accessible medium to reveal engaging aspects of an intentionally secretive international creative community. With dynamically illustrated perspectives from diverse niches of the art form, hundreds of photographs and numerous essays have been curated by StencilArchive.org’s founder, Russell Howze. Stencil Nation builds upon previous published works to give the most extensive and up-to-date history of stencil art, as well as how-to tips from the artist."
